Recap: Community Forum on Capital Planning + What’s Next

July 31, 2025
Dear Pleasantville Community,
Thank you to all who attended Tuesday night’s Community Forum focused on the district’s ongoing Capital Project planning. It was wonderful to see so many engaged residents come out to listen, learn, and share thoughtful questions and feedback. Your participation reinforces what I’ve already seen in my short time here: this community cares deeply about its schools.
If you were unable to attend, a video recording of the forum is available here.
Please know that this forum was just the beginning. We will be announcing additional forums and opportunities for engagement as the planning process continues. In the meantime, I welcome your thoughts, questions, and suggestions—please don’t hesitate to reach out.
As we move forward, the district is committed to diversified and accessible communication. Whether through email, print, social media, website content, or community meetings, we will use multiple channels to ensure that all community members stay informed and have a voice in this important work.
This message was sent using ParentSquare, our new communication platform. While it’s designed to keep parents and guardians informed, it’s also for anyone in the Pleasantville community who wants to stay connected to district news and events.
If you’re a parent or guardian, you should have received an invitation from the district to join. If you’re a community member (grandparent, neighbor, alum, or simply someone who cares about our schools), we invite you to sign up here: Join ParentSquare Community Groups
Please help us spread the word. Share this link with friends, family, and neighbors who may not currently have children in school but would like to stay informed.
Since joining Pleasantville Schools, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with several community members and look forward to connecting with many more in the weeks ahead. I am especially eager to engage with parent-led groups like the Friends of the Visual Arts, Friends of the Performing Arts, Science Olympiad, the Booster Club, the Community Scholarship Fund, and the Pleasantville Fund for Learning, among others. I am committed to ensuring that these organizations—and the families they represent—are included in the Capital Project conversation.
Equally important is the voice of our students. They experience our buildings every day, and their input will be a key part of our planning process and, of course, our ongoing work to enhance the experience among all students.
I’m honored to join the Pleasantville community at such a pivotal time and am grateful for the energy and dedication that’s already gone into this effort. Together—with input from community members, faculty, students, administrators, and the Board of Education—we will shape a plan that reflects our shared values and supports the future of our schools.
Warmly,
Dr. Eric Lutinski
Interim Superintendent
