Character Education

BRS recognizes the importance of giving students a voice. The Fill a Bucket Program empowers students to be active participants in creating a school community that recognizes and celebrates differences, fills people’s buckets, and teaches proactive ways to prevent teasing and bullying. A Buddy Bench is located outside on the BRS playground to assist students in need of a friend or opportunity to be included in a recess activity. All K-4 classes have a “Buddy Class” that engages in monthly character education activities. PTA/SEPTA sponsored events such as Team Works Counts and Walk in My Shoes provide learning opportunities to celebrate individual differences and team work. Community Outreach is also a component of our school program.
